Thrice is not currently a band. However, being on hiatus hasn’t stopped them from releasing Anthology, a comprehensive live album.
So, music continues its stalwart march toward an entirely digital existence. Or does it? The medium seeing the largest increase in sales volume was vinyl singles. Wait, what…?
The Heavy manage to both pay homage to their rock, soul, blues, and funk roots, and provide new and innovative music that is just plain cool.

Two Albums You Either Loved or Missed
My strongest musical associations have come about during the summer months, due to the frequent car trips to concerts around the southeast and more so due to my hiding from the life-wrecking sun and heat. It’s no secret that I’m pale and nerdy, so summer time is better spent avoiding sunburns and getting my fill of new releases. At the risk of sounding musically pretentious, I devote a good amount of time to finding things that won’t be overplayed on AltNation by the end of the season. Not that there’s anything wrong with critical sweethearts, I’m just easily bored.
